Get the Most From Lush
Fertilizer works best when the rest of your plant's care is dialed in too.
Light
Give your plant the light level appropriate for its species. Good light supports stronger growth and helps plants make better use of available nutrients.
Water
Water according to your plant's needs rather than following a rigid calendar. Soil, light, temperature, and plant size all affect how quickly a plant uses water.
Feed
Consistency matters more than using extra fertilizer. Follow the recommended rate and feed regularly during periods of active growth.
Grow
Watch how your plant responds. Growth rate, season, temperature, and light can all affect how often feeding is needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to some of the most common questions about feeding your plants with Lush.
How often should I use Lush Houseplant Fertilizer?
Use the standard 10 mL per gallon rate every 7–14 days during active growth. Your plant's light, growth rate, season, and growing conditions can all affect how frequently it needs feeding.
Can I use Lush every time I water?
For most plants, follow the recommended 7–14 day feeding schedule rather than automatically adding fertilizer every time you water. Consistent feeding at the recommended rate is more important than feeding more often.
Can I use Lush on young plants?
Yes. For young plants or plants that don't require full-strength feeding, you can start with a lighter rate of 5 mL per gallon and adjust as the plant becomes established and begins growing more actively.
Can I use Lush after repotting?
Yes. Newly repotted plants may benefit from a lighter feeding while they establish in their new growing medium. A rate of 5 mL per gallon is a good starting point before returning to the standard feeding rate as active growth resumes.
What if I accidentally use too much?
If you've significantly over-applied fertilizer, flush the growing medium thoroughly with plain water and allow the excess water to drain completely. Return to your normal watering and feeding routine afterward.
Can I use Lush on all houseplants?
Lush Houseplant Fertilizer is designed for a broad range of common indoor plants. Individual species can have different nutrient requirements, so particularly sensitive or specialized plants may benefit from adjusted feeding.
